Newsflash

OSAMA bin Laden's driver overheard the al Qaeda leader saying he was happy about the death toll in the September 11 attacks and thought the hijacked plane that crashed in Pennsylvania was shot down, according to one of the driver's interrogators. The evidence by Ali Soufan, a former FBI agent, was meant to support the case by prosecutors at the Guantanamo Bay war crimes tribunal that the driver, Salim Hamdan, was close to al Qaeda's leadership. Hamdan, a Yemeni father of two with a fourth-grade education, is the first Guantanamo prisoner to face trial before the controversial tribunal at the remote base on Cuba. He faces life in prison if convicted. "Bin Laden was happy about the results and he (Hamdan) heard bin Laden say he didn't expect the operation to be that successful," said Ali Soufan, a former FBI agent. "He only thought 1000 to 1500 people would perish so he was happy with the results." Mr Soufan also said Hamdan told him about a conversation he overheard when he was driving bin Laden and his deputy, Ayman al-Zawahiri, after the attacks that killed nearly 3000 people in New York, Washington and Pennsylvania. The two men were looking at a magazine which described the flight routes of the September 11 hijacked planes, Mr Soufan said. "If they didn't shoot that fourth plane it would have hit the dome," Mr Soufan said bin Laden told Zawahiri, according to Hamdan's account. "I assumed ('the dome' meant) either Congress or the White House," Mr Soufan said. "Hamdan said he did not know what they mean by the dome." United Airlines Flight 93 crashed in a Pennsylvania field. US officials have never said it was shot down but there was speculation about the issue at the time. Describing the relationship between the driver and the al Qaeda leader, Mr Soufan said bin Laden had given Hamdan some marriage advice, suggesting he go back to Yemen and find a women from a "pious religious family," and when Hamdan returned with a wife, bin Laden held a feast in celebration. "It shows a close relationship, an affinity," he said. Hamdan is being tried in a court for terrorism suspects created by the Bush administration after the September 11 attacks. His innocence or guilt will be decided by a jury of U.S. military officers who are fighting the war on terrorism. The tribunal system has been loudly criticized as unfair by human rights groups and defence lawyers. Prosecutors have portrayed Hamdan as a driver and bodyguard for the fugitive al Qaeda leader who had access to the Islamic militant group's inner circle. Defence lawyers say he was just a hired hand in the motor pool who never joined al Qaeda. On the third day of trial, Mr Soufan, a prosecution witness who interrogated Hamdan, said bin Laden knew the September 11 hijackers and spoke highly of them. "He praised them and their courage and he asked God to accept them as martyrs," Mr Soufan told the six-member jury. Hamdan was able to identify some of the top al Qaeda leaders in photographs and a suicide bomber who struck the guided missile destroyer USS Cole in Yemen in 2000. Prosecutors showed jurors a series of videos and pictures. Mr Soufan identified bin Laden and Hamdan standing together. In one, Hamdan was carrying a machine gun. "Who gets to be that close to Osama bin Laden?" prosecutor John Murphy asked. "People he trusts ... with his life, it appears," Mr Soufan said.

I have diputed this verizon account with Experian credit bureau. I told them that the verizon account #570689028 was fraudelent. I told Verizon a numerous of time that this account was Fraud and theft through deception. Now at this point I have filed a police report stating that this account was Fraud and theft through deception. At this point Verizon sold it to a collection company called K C A Financial Sevice.

I am suing Verizon and K C A Financial service for an amount of $100,000. The lawsuit will consist of a Class Act Action Suit. This suit will include Statutory Demages and theft through deception. In result to all of this mess I got high blood pressure and I lost a lot of money due a sudden drop of my credit score.

Maintenance Agreement Stinks

Posted by: Tommy on 12/19/2008 09:40 AM

Sears only cares about the monies. The customer will be scelduled from 8 AM to 5PM for service.
I recently called and spoke to about 7 people, all giving me false hope to make an appointment to repair the ice maker. It has been out for 5 days now and the only day they service my area is on Wed. Well lets look at this, That is Christmass Eve, and Newyears Eve. We went ahead and made it for Jan 7 2009.
They tried to contact the routing dept, (or so they say), and thats the best thwey can do.
Last time we had a regular maintance (You Must Have this service 1 time a year to keep your contract)The told me between 8 am and 5. I call the tech and he said I was next on his rout at 10AM, at 12noon I called him back and his responce was. "No one called you? They changed my route and someone else will come out". Well at about 6PM that night they arrived.
The service is good for major appliances, if you don't have a life.
Any suggestions to where we can get a "Maintenance agreement" that can deliver what they promise?
Tom

Cleared doctor fights deportation PDF Print E-mail

A Staffordshire doctor cleared of any involvement in the 2007 London and Glasgow car bomb plots will fight to stay in the UK, his solicitor has said.

Mohammed Asha, 28, a Jordanian living in Newcastle-under-Lyme, remains in custody and was served with deportation papers as his working visa has expired.

His lawyers said he wanted to stay in the UK and resume his medical career.

A Woolwich Crown Court jury found Bilal Abdulla guilty of plotting to set off car bombs with Kafeel Ahmed, who died.

Abdulla, 29, is facing a life term for conspiracy to murder and conspiracy to cause explosions.

The first attack, on 29 June, involved two failed car bombs left in London's West End.

'Very disappointed'

A day later, a burning Jeep filled with gas canisters was driven into Glasgow Airport. Ahmed died from 90% burns sustained during the attack.

Dr Asha was acquitted on Tuesday of plotting to murder and cause explosions.

During the nine-week trial, he admitted knowing Abdulla, who is also a doctor, and Ahmed but denied any knowledge of their attacks.

Dr Asha was on the highly-skilled migrants programme

Dr Asha's legal team said he was disappointed he now faced being transferred to a immigration detention centre.

Solicitor Tayab Ali said: "He wants to stay in this country and resume his medical career.

"He is very disappointed that he is still in custody after being acquitted in one of this country's biggest cases."

'Bright future'

Dr Asha was on a highly-skilled migrants programme visa which expired while he was on remand.

At the time of his arrest on 30 June last year, he was working for the University Hospital of North Staffordshire and living in Sunningdale Grove with his wife and daughter.

He had been due to go on holiday, before transferring to Coventry's Walsgrave Hospital to continue training in neurosurgery.

Jurors heard he was a strictly observant Muslim with a very bright future in neurology.

One colleague had told the court he would not be surprised if Dr Asha became Britain's best neurologist.

A Refrigerator That Makes Me Boil

Posted by: Frigidaired Out on 11/01/2008 02:59 PM

I purchased a refrigerator from Lowes back in April. After the refrigerator portion stopped cooling my food, I contacted a Lowes representative who insisted I have to speak with Frigidare for a resolution. After giving Frigidare every possible lick of information about me and the unit, promised a resolution within 24 - 48 hours.

When 72 hours passed, I called once again and was given the same promise.

When they again failed to respond as promised, I forced the local Lowes representative to stay on the line with me until Frigidaire coughed up an RMA number with which I could return the unit for a new one. Shortly thereafter it was determined that either the RMA number was not valid or that the ball got dropped once again. And of course the person that deals with this issue is not in on weekends when I have much more time to wait on hold. They had all week to act as promised and now use the weekend as an excuse to push me back again.

I have been without a refrigerator for a week now. I've since found that Frigidaire has no allowances for spoiled food, for the extra cost for meals that I am forced to spend, or any type of reimbursment allowance for the value of all the hours that I have been forced to wait on hold for them. The only thing I get from them is more hold time and a chance to talk to our native brothers and sisters from another continent, the ones with the funny accents.

As I write I am once again on hold and being told that they will have to wait yet another 48 hours to resolve this problem.

They refuse to discuss the steps they need to fix my problem today. They refuse to provide any allowance for refunding my purchase. They refuse to reimburse me for my losses. Had they had lived up to even their 2nd commitment, I would have been happy with a simple replacement. Now the world deserves to know my frustration.

My question is, are there any laws being broken if I tie the unit to my bumper and drag it in circles around Lowes parking lot?

Of how about if I set it on fire and invite the news media to film as it burns?

Or how about if I set it on fire and then drag it around in cirles while the media films?

I have been given 3 committments now which Frigidaire has broken. All they offer is apologies and no action. If I had $10.00 for each apology, I'd have my refund by now.

I wish to let Frigidaire know that their broken commitments do not come without consequences. Your help in somehow conveying my frustation to the nation would be appreciated.

Regards,

Randal Spence

Update: As I finish this letter, the Frigidaire people seem to have miraculously made a special deal with Lowes to exhange my unit. I will keep you posted if this exchange fails to take place as promised. Otherwise, look for me on the news.

Scam, Scam, Scam!!!

Posted by: gxxfisch on 10/11/2008 12:04 PM

I received a letter and check (in the mail)from Al Synder, a grant broker at the Grant Organization, that he had procured a grant for me in the sum of $9,740.00.
The enclosed check was for $4,870.00...I was to deposit or cash the check, and send him a 10% commission, $974.00, then I would get the other 1/2 ($4,870.00)sent to me by "Next Day Air Express" mail.
Of course I did nothing of the kind. Instead I reported this scam to the U.S. Postal Inspections,Fraud Division (1-877-876-2455) and to he Attorney General's office in the State of Texas!
These scams need to be stopped. Too many people fall for them, and loose much money!!!!
