A barn was destroyed by fire this afternoon off Buena Vista Road in Hollister.

The Hollister Fire Department responded to the blaze shortly after 3 p.m. and had it contained by about 3:30 p.m. They prevented it from spreading to nearby fields on another dry, hot day in Hollister.

No people were hurt, and it's unclear if there were animals in the barn at the time.
